Tamir Akta - Israeli born trumpet soloist and composer.

Tamir, graduate of the "Talma Yelin" school of arts, recipient of the America Israel cultural Foundation scholarship 1987-1995, winner of the interlaken competition 1991, was principal trumpet and soloist with the young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is married to trumpet soloist Limor Akta who plays alongside him. They both completed their academic training in the Paris Conservatory, in the trumpet class of the master Guy Touvron - one of the world's greatest trumpet players and an especially sensitive musician. Their extended stay in Paris included many concert performances and competition prizes such as the Selmer Trumpet Competition, the young soloist Trumpet competition, concerts and many chamber music festivals all over Europe as well as official performances for the Israeli Embays in Paris and Israeli consulates around Europe.

since their return to Israel, they perform extensively as soloist, in chamber music concerts, in orchestras and festivals all over the world. Musical education is close to their hearts and they view it as calling and an obligation to train the next generation of musician in Israel. Therefore, in addition to their constant performing and composition activity, Limor is the director of the conservatory and Tamir teaches trumpet and supervises an elementary school music education project in Raanana. Tamir has been composing for 3 years and performing it in many venues. since he began composing his playing has become fluent and full of expression and emotion. his exceptional virtuosic ability as well as his refined musical sensitivity create a real, sincere and complete musical work.
